Ina Garten, an American author of cookbooks on cooking and Emmy Award-winning host for Food Network's longest-running program Barefoot Contessa which began broadcasting in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons to 2020. Ina started writing policies and nuclear energy papers for the White House. In the beginning, she found her work as stimulating intellectually, however, she eventually lost interest and opened a food specialty store called Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making the business extremely profitable prior to selling it before acquiring a pen to write her first book. Many other cookbooks and magazine columns followed. Another success came from the Food Network Television show. Additionally, she offers all kinds of cooking equipment, tools and storage containers. Ina is a cook who has learned by herself who has not been to a cooking class, nor employed in a kitchen. Her relaxed approach to entertaining as well as her simple cooking style are well known.
